DAY EIGHTEEN

You got a little pixel Charmander and some random thoughts on it!!

From a work gift exchange. Not Lego surprisingly, Mega Bloks! I wonder how much Mega Bloks pays to license Pokemon products? Surely they must be one of their most popular lines? Anyways, it was pretty chill building this! Made feel really kiddish in a good way. I liked the tactile feeling of clicking the "pixel" tiles in. I tried to align the tiles straight with a edge tool, but some are slanted. Oops! But Charmander looks good from where you see him! I love pixel art. Reminds me of some Pokemon pixel art I made in Minecraft a while ago hahaha.

Bulbasaur is my favorite Gen 1 starter. Just as cute as Charmander and arguable the best competitively over the years too. So useful in battle. Charizard eats rocks!! Next is Totodile. Underrated starter. Good. Cute. The Chikorita line is so weak. Ash's Chikorita / Bayleef was cool though. Then it's Mudkip, one of my favorite starters overall. Swampert is also cool af. Aren't all Gen 3 starters cool though? I always feel like they usually give favortism towards the fire starter. That really bothered me and felt unfair to me as a kid which is why I hated Charizard and Pikachu lol. Next is Chimchar. I can't see myself picking another Sinnoh starter unless it was a special playthrough. They really FUCKED up with the fire types in Sinnoh. Yes, they expanded the dex in Platinum, but isn't it SO UNFAIR that Magmortar is locked behind the horrid trade evolution mechanics??? I hate those. Thanks, you made me single player experience terrible and the old games age like milk. Fuck trade evolutions. ANYWAYS, all of the Gen 5 evolutions are kind ugly, but I would say Oshawatt is the best line overall. Why did they make Samurott have 4 legs when Delwatt looked so bad ass on 2? I don't know. Emboar looks dumb (even though I picked him as a kid because fire/fighting was what I was used to)... I don't like how Seperior attack is low. Especially as a grass type... Okay Gen 6. Fennekin! Maybe I'll add this to my unpopular opinions, but I love Delphox's design. Not a downgrade from Braxien but could be better. Gen 7, POPPILO! Again, I love Primarina's design. Hated for what? Being feminine? It looks stunning. Say what you want about Gen 6 and 7 (*cough* Mega Evolutions are a mistake *cough*), but all of their starters are great! Not Gen 8's though. They belong in the trash like most of SwSh! The base forms are so cute. So perfect. So much potential. AND then..... they make the starters as fugly as possible!!!!!! They really do look hideous and terrible. Cinderace is the least bad one. Gen 9. Weed cat. The Gen 9 starters have grown on me, but they still look weird. I still haven't play Gen 9 (*gasp*!), but now I really want to. My opinion doesn't matter at all until I play ScVi. I still really enjoyed Shield and played it for well over a hundred hours and shiny hunted. I'm just going to be honest guys, some of the pokemon from Gen 9 look really weird to me. I've been trying to avoid spoilers but all the ones I see online sometimes look... bad... Whoever designed that gold coin pokemon needs to be fired.

Here I'll cut off my Pokemon talk since I need to upload more pictures, but I love talking about the series.

BACK?
